Decorative circles probably symbolizing protector eyes to mark the beginning of the aǧzā’
There are smaller circles in some other places (30r, 33v, 42v, 58v, 60v, 78v, etc.). Some of them coincide with the aḥzāb and some others with the beginning of some suras such as sūrat Yūnus.
