Al-Nabahānī's poem has the form of a taḫmīs consisting of groups of four half-verses all rhyming (with a new rhyme in each group), followed by a single verse (all rhyming with -dī). The groups are interspersed with qur’ānic quotations. This part contains an abbreviated version of the poem. First quoting sūra 9:128–129, it continues, only giving the initial half-verse of each group. On fol. 10v, however, the last four verse groups are cited in their entirety. At the end, sūra 37:180–182 are quoted.
