Biographic comments
Maġribī historian and Tiǧānī ṣūfī. He was born in Sūs, studied in Fez, where he had a short administrative career in Dīwān al-inšā' and as a wazīr. He lost his position in 1238 H and retired to Marrākūš, where he became a prominent member of the Tiǧāniyya. He wrote history and poetry.
