Biographic comments
He was born in Belgram, India, in a family from Wāsiṭ, Iraq. He then moved to Yemen in Zabīd, hence his nisba, and then to Cairo where he died during an epidemic plague. He was affiliated to the ṣūfī order of Naqšbandiyya.
