Biographic comments

His name does not appear in the lists of amīrs of Harar. His death date is given in a note in IES00266, fol. 55v. The year coincides with the death year of amīr Ḥāmid b. amīr Abū Bakr b. ʻAbd Allāh, who ruled 1733-1747. ʻAbd al-Mannān may have been another son of amīr Abū Bakr (ruled 1721-1732) or he is identical with amīr Ḥāmid. The name of amīr ʻAbd al-Mannān b. amīr Abī Bakr appears in a note in IES00262, fol. 55v and in a waqf text in IES01845, fol. 1r.
