Biographic comments

Leading figure of the Qādiriyya in Gurage area from the 2dn quarter of the 20th century. The zawiya of Abrët reached the peak of its development under his direction. He studied in Azäkäre and Dana. He took the qādī office in Wolkite during Italian occupation. He also had a political role as mediator between Hayle Sellassie and local oppositors. He was probably killed by the Därg in 1978, but the fact was never confirmed, leading to the common belief that he could be still alive.
