Biographic comments

The 4th century B.C. Greek philosopher and scientist. He provided a synthesis of the existing philosophies prior to him, including Socrates and Plato. The study of his works became permanently established in the Greek philosophical schools from the first century B.C. onwards, and largely influenced Muslim philosophers (among which Averroes/Ibn Rušd, Avicenna/Ibn Sīnā, Alpharabius/al-Farābī) who translated most of the still extant works of Aristotle, as well as a number of the original Greek commentaries.
