Biographic comments
Persian Islamic philosopher and logician of the Šāfiʻī school. His most important works are a treatise on logic, Al-Risāla al-Šamsiyya, and one on metaphysics and the natural sciences, Ḥikmat al-ʻayn. He was involved in the establishment of the Maragha observatory.
