Biographic comments

Egyptian Mālikī scholar who studied in Cairo. In the second half of the 10th century H (i.e. after 1540 G), he moved to Sūdān and settled in Berber. He built a mosque in Berber and was teaching there. He also acted as a qāḍī. He was still alive in the 11th century H, when he taught his grandson who was born ca. 1040 H / 1630-31 G.
