Faqīh mālikī, he studied, among others, with Nāṣir al-Dīn Muḥammad b. al- Ḥasan al-Laqānī (873-958 H.) and al-Tāǧūrī. He stayed for a while in the ribāt of Alexandria. He died at the end of the year 998 H.
