Biographic comments

He was an Ethiopian ḥāfiẓ and muḥaddiṯ remembered as one of the master of ʻAbd Allāh al-Hararī. He travelled to Cairo, Jerusalem, Damas, Beirut, Baghdad, Mecca and Medina. After his return he was accused of conspiring against the Ethiopian Government with the help of foreign powers with the aim of establishing a Muslim State. A biography of Muftī Muḥammad Sīrāǧ seems to have been written by his son Muḥammad b. al-Muftī Muḥammad Sirāǧ.

Originated in Annā.
