Biographic comments

He was travelling direct to Ḥiǧāz for his pilgrimage in 1326 when he stopped in Ṭīʻū (Thio) on the Afar coast of Eritrea where he met Ibrāhīm b. al-Ḫalīl. He then went to Mecca where he arrived and came back in the village of ʻId in 1327. He finally came back to his place of origin in Awsa. In his hagiography is said that he used to compose his beautiful devotional poems while he was sleeping. He took the iǧāza from his grandfather's brother, kabīr Hāšim b. Ḥāǧǧ Ḥamza in 1332. During his life he made a lot of miracles and was venerated as a saint; is maqām is in Awsa and it's called Maḥḍarā.
