Disciple and successor of al-Ǧazūlī at the head of the Šāḏiliyya Ǧazūliyya. He worked as a silk weaver and studied in Marrakesh, where he was known for the large number of followers (hence the nickname "al-Tabbāʻ"), also before entering the Sufi path. He was also among the disciples of al-Sahlī in Fez, after the death of al-Ǧazūlī.
